Edulang now has a cool lil’ mascot AND a swanky new catalogue!

  So what do you think of our new mascot? …     While revamping the webpage a bit, we also took the time to get around to something that clients, especially universities have been asking for awhile— a catalogue that describes all of our products.   Again, our mascot rose to the occasion  Check it out here.     And a quick peek at one page describing 1 of our 9 applications     I must say, it is cool working with a team of tech/design-oriented folks that can whip off things like this without thinking twice… I gotta (…)

Two New Edulang #ESL Applications Now Online

  What’s the best way to learn English?… “… To see and hear people using it in practice, to understand it… And to use it yourself!”   This is the catch phrase for our new application, Citizen of the World.   Developed by professors at the University of Wolverhampton this application is slightly different from other Edulang resources as Citizen of the World uses a video approach, pinpointing specific vocabulary needs for a wide range of situations.  All the same, it’s still based on the same pedagogical roots of 1) pre-language exposure, 2) focus while listening/viewing 3) confirming understanding, and then 4) (…)

Freebies for #ELT professionals

How English learners can learn to READ their testing FUTURE

  Have you ever played with that Mattel fortune-telling ball called the 8-ball®?   Ya know— Ask a question, any question…. then shake it… and then magically it will randomly give you 1 of 20 answers that will amuse most children or even teens all day long. EX:  ”Will I be teaching Oral English again this semester?”… shake, shake… “Outlook good!” Ever thought of bringing it into the classroom?  I did and I promise you that any activity working with questions will immediately become more entertaining  (oh and if you can’t find a real 8-ball… there’s an app for that!… (…)
